Fernando Bonnin Book

Graphic treatment for Fernando Bonnin’s artist book, conceived as an object where reading becomes a tactile, interactive experience. A complete visual system was developed, including typographic hierarchy, layout rhythm, and image pacing, allowing each artwork to breathe while the narrative unfolds as a curated journey.

The art direction was conceived through materiality as a central narrative element. I carefully curated the selection of papers, textures, and finishes, including a linen-bound cover and a circular die-cut window that offers a subtle first glimpse into the chromatic intensity of the book.

The interior architecture was designed to create a fluid and intuitive reading experience, incorporating cut-outs, overlays, and shifts in color that guide the reader organically through the pages. Special openings and triptych-style foldouts were also integrated, allowing selected artworks to unfold in layers. These structural gestures introduce moments of discovery, pause, and reflection, encouraging the reader to engage with the content in a more tactile and immersive way.

The result is a tactile, contemplative publication, an editorial object that frames, conceals, and reveals again, an extension of Bonnin’s visual language and spatial thinking.
